Family convicted of false imprisonment and assault
Three members of the same family were convicted of ABH and false imprisonment at Oxford Crown Court on 10 August, following a two-week trial. Mudassar Ahmed, 29, and his parents Halima and Iftikhar Ahmed, both 52, had all pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Solicitor General visits the Crown Prosecution Service in Reading
The newly-appointed Solicitor General, Edward Garnier QC MP, visited staff from Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) at the Reading office in the Oxford Road, on Tuesday, 20 July, as part of a fact-finding tour around CPS offices in England and Wales.

Animal rights activist found guilty after re-trial
A 50 year-old-man, Mel Broughton, from Northampton, has been convicted of conspiracy to commit arson in a campaign against Oxford University, after a retrial at Oxford Crown Court, which concluded today, July 13. He was also sentenced to 10 years imprisonment.

National Disability Day - supporting victims and witnesses of disability hate crime
July 11 was National Disability Day. To mark this date, Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) wishes to raise awareness of Disability Hate Crime. The intention is to obtain fairness and justice for disabled victims and witnesses of hate crime by prosecuting Disability Hate Crime cases robustly.

Herts man sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering his neighbour
A man who murdered his elderly neighbour was sentenced yesterday, July 8, at St Albans Crown Court, to life imprisonment, after he pleaded guilty on July 5 to murder and robbery. He will serve a minimum of 29 years in jail

A 26 year-old serving police officer has today been sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court to a Community Order of 225 hours unpaid work for dangerous driving. He was also disqualified from driving for a period of 18 months.

Man sentenced after fatal road accident in Aylesbury
A 43 year-old man has today been sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court to undertake 160 hours of unpaid community work for causing death by driving unlicensed and a number of fraud offences. He was also disqualified from driving for a period of 12 months.

Man sentenced for fatal stabbing of his ex-girlfriend.
At Luton Crown Court today a 24 year-old man has been sentenced for manslaughter following the fatal stabbing of his 18 year-old ex-girlfriend. Karl Oakley received life imprisonment (to serve a minimum of 15 years).
