CPS Staffordshire launches new website

12/11/2007

Today CPS Staffordshire launched its new website and e-mail address. The website will provide the people of Staffordshire with direct access to information on CPS Staffordshire and the e-mail address will make contacting us much easier.

Initially the website will contain information about who we are and what we do, including direct links into guidelines on how we make fair and consistent decisions about prosecutions in order to try and help the people of Staffordshire understand how a prosecution comes about. The site also includes publications such as our annual reports, press releases, careers information and current vacancies.

Over time the website will grow to contain a wide range of information on successful cases, more information for victims and witnesses, hate crime performance data and our work with local communities.

The website aims to improve the dialogue with the community, especially diverse communities who experience particular crimes but whose voices are less often heard.

Harry Ireland, Chief Crown Prosecutor said: Our new website will provide the public with another very important avenue into understanding how the CPS works locally. Aside from making the work of the CPS in Staffordshire more visible, the website will also help to make us more approachable so we are easier to contact.

We would like to hear from members of the public about the site and welcome any views about the service via our new dedicated e-mail address.

Brian Laybourne, Area Business Manager added: This website is giving the public of Staffordshire a greater opportunity to become informed of the workings of the CPS and other CJS agencies in Staffordshire.

The website address is www.cps.gov.uk/staffordshire and the new e-mail address is staffordshire@cps.gsi.gov.uk
