The team in our Gloucester office consists of around 40 staff who prosecute approximately 700 cases a year at Gloucester Crown Court and 5,000 cases at Magistrates' Courts in Gloucester, Cheltenham and Stroud.

Rachael Scott, District Crown Prosecutor

Rachael Scott joined the CPS in 1989, becoming one of the first legal trainees in the organisation. She was a pupil at chambers in Bristol, Wiltshire and Somerset before becoming a Crown Prosecutor in Taunton in 1990. In 1992, Rachael was promoted to Senior Crown Prosecutor and transferred to the Bristol office. In 2001, she qualified as one of the first CPS Barrister Crown Advocates and began Crown Court advocacy at Bristol Crown Court. In 2002, she became a District Crown Prosecutor with responsibility for five youth courts in the Bristol area.

In 2008, Rachael moved to Gloucestershire where she became head of the Crown Court team, supervising a team of lawyers and continuing to practice Crown Court advocacy. In April 2012, Rachael became the District Crown Prosecutor responsible for the combined magistrates' court and Crown Court team. Rachael is married and lives in the Cotswolds.
