New Chief for Gloucestershire CPS

Victoria Cook has been appointed Chief Crown Prosecutor (CCP) for Gloucestershire.

The previous CCP, Adrian Foster, who joined CPS Gloucestershire in 2002, became the CPS Head of Operations last month.

Victoria brings with her a weath of experience, both as a prosecutor and defence solicitor, having spent five years as a defence lawyer in private practice.

Since joining the CPS in 2005, Victoria has worked on both Magistrates and Crown Court cases in Hampshire and latterly in Dorset where she managed the Crown Court unit.

Victoria said: Its a really great opportunity for me to lead CPS Gloucestershire.  We want to work with the communities we serve to ensure they receive the service which is right for them and to help them understand what we do. We will also continue to work closely with Gloucestershire Constabulary, the Courts and our other Criminal Justice partners to refine our processes and ensure maximum efficiency. This is a challenging time for everyone in the public sector, but  we will continue to offer the public a service in line with our 12 Core Quality Standards
