Two charged with Gloucestershire attack

The Crown Prosecution Service has today authorised Gloucestershire police to charge two men in relation to a serious attack on a man in Redmarley, Gloucestershire.

CPS reviewing lawyer, Andrew Pritchard said: "Having conducted a thorough review of all evidence currently available the CPS concluded that there is sufficient evidence to charge Jason Evans and Fred Evans with blackmail and making threats to kill. Additionally there is sufficient evidence to charge Jason Evans with possession of a bladed article and Fred Evans with GBH. Therefore Gloucestershire police were accordingly authorised to charge them and they will appear tomorrow at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court.

"Proceedings are now ongoing and the defendants have the right to a fair trial. It is very important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings."
