Man charged for Gloucester machete killing

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) today authorised Gloucestershire police to charge a man in relation to the killing of Zac Evans.

CPS reviewing lawyer, Huw Rogers, said: "Having reviewed the evidence I have concluded that it is sufficient and that it is in the public interest to proceed with a prosecution. I have therefore today authorised Gloucestershire police to charge Ewen Reynolds with the murder of Zac Evans and the attempted murder of another man.

"I must remind the media that this is a live case and nothing must be reported which could prejudice any future proceedings."

Zac Evans was killed following an attack outside the Pike and Musket pub in Tuffley, Gloucester in the early hours of Saturday 24 January. Another man was seriously injured and taken to Gloucestershire Royal hospital, although has since been discharged.

Reynolds will appear at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court tomorrow.
