Former Clifton College teacher charged with possession of indecent images

The CPS has today authorised Devon and Cornwall police to charge a former teacher with possession of indecent images.

CPS Senior Crown Prosecutor Howard Phillips said: "I have today authorised Devon and Cornwall police to charge Jonathan Thompson-Glover with 36 counts of possession of indecent images.

"Proceedings are now ongoing and the defendant has the right to a fair trial. It is very important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings."

Mr Thompson-Glover was arrested following a joint investigation by Devon and Cornwall and Avon and Somerset police forces. He is a former teacher at Clifton College in Bristol.

Information was initially passed to Devon and Cornwall police in summer 2014 by the National Crime Agency relating to indecent images of children downloaded from the internet.

Following further enquiries, officers investigated offences relating to the creation of indecent images committed at the College and at a residential address in Wadebridge, Cornwall. None of the charges relate to contact offences.

If you have any information which would help this enquiry please contact the Operation Initial team at Taunton police station via 101 or by emailing
