Dwayne Bailey guilty of raping teenager

Dwayne Bailey (24) appeared before Judge William Hart where he was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for the brutal rape of a teenager having been found guilty by a jury of seven men and five women at Bristol Crown Court.

The jury heard how Dwayne Bailey gripped his victim around the throat, told her he was going to kidnap her and threatened to stab her neck with a pen.

CPS South West, Senior Crown Prosecutor Lesley Ness said: "This was an appalling sexual assault on a young victim."

Judge William Hart told Bailey to register as a sex offender indefinitely and handed him an indefinite restraining order banning him from contact with his victim.

Lesley added: "The bravery shown by the victim is commended to one of such a young age. It is hoped that the sentencing of Dwayne Bailey will now give closure to the victim".
