Custodial sentence for Tina Nash's attacker

Roland Alli, 32, from Plymouth, was today handed a 14 week custodial sentence at Truro Crown Court for his attack on Tina Nash earlier this year.

CPS District Crown Prosecutor Kathy Taylor said: "The CPS worked closely with Devon and Cornwall police to bring this case to court. The fact that Mr Alli pleaded guilty serves to highlight the strength of our case and the excellent work done by the entire prosecution team.

"The CPS takes domestic violence extremely seriously and will always prosecute where there is sufficient evidence and it is in the public interest to do so. I would encourage anybody who is the subject of domestic violence or domestic abuse to report it so the perpetrator can be brought to justice."

In April 2011, Tina Nash, 33, was blinded by her then partner, Shane Jenkin, in a horrific attack. He was sentenced to serve six years imprisonment in May 2012.
