Charlie Broadway has been found guilty of the murder of Wilf Isaacs Senior at a travellers' site in Ilton, Somerset on Thursday 5 May 2016, and the attempted murder of Wilf Isaacs Jnr. William Broadway and John Broadway were found guilty of the manslaughter of Mr Isaacs Snr.

Joseph Finney and Riley Joe Jones were found guilty of wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in respect of an incident shortly before the death of Mr Isaacs Snr, and Bonnie Wilson was found guilty of assisting an offender.

Andrew Pritchard, Senior Crown Prosecutor at CPS South West said: "The incident started off as a verbal disagreement between Wilf Isaacs Snr, his son and members of the extended Broadway family, including Charlie Broadway, Riley Jones and Joseph Finney, over the behaviour of a child on the site. It escalated into a physical altercation, with the end result that Wilf Isaacs Senior was fatally shot. Wilf Isaacs Jnr was also shot during the incident.

"Whilst Charlie Broadway was the one who pulled the trigger, William and John Broadway were also culpable; John by calling for a gun to be fetched and Billy by collecting and handing it to Charlie. Bonne Wilson assisted John in his escape after the shooting.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) worked closely with Avon & Somerset Police throughout the case to bring those involved in Wilf Isaacs Snr's murder to justice. The prosecution team reviewed a large amount of evidence and technical data and were able to provide a clear case to the jury.

Mr Pritchard concluded "Our thoughts are today with the Isaacs family and we hope that the convictions will provide a degree of comfort and closure."
