Second person charged following Hailsham stabbing
29/06/2012
The Crown Prosecution Service has today (29 June) authorised the charging of Stuart Johnson, 18, of no fixed abode with murder following the fatal stabbing of Darren Croxton in Hailsham back in January 2012.
Johnson has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Hastings Magistrates' Court tomorrow (30 June) morning.
Johnson is the second person to be charged with murder following Darren's death - a 16-year-old boy from Hailsham was charged with murder back in February and remains in custody.
A 48-year-old man, formerly from Hailsham, arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice has been rebailed until early September, along with another 16-year-old boy, also formerly of Hailsham, and arrested on suspicion of murder and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
A 17-year-old boy from Hailsham and a 20-year-old man from Hastings, both arrested in January on suspicion of murder, will have no further action taken against them at this stage.
