Sussex murderer Christopher Hunnisett sentenced to life imprisonment

Christopher Hunnisett, was today (Tuesday 22 May) sentenced to life imprisonment at Woolwich Crown Court for the murder of Peter Bick at his flat in Bexhill.

Mark Bishop, Acting Senior District Crown Prosecutor, said: "This was a brutal crime and one that was carefully planned by Christopher Hunnisett, who clearly intended to kill Peter Bick. Throughout his trial, Christopher Hunnisett tried to evade responsibility for his crime, a defence which the jury clearly saw through. There is no doubt in my mind that had he not been brought to justice, other men may have become the target of Christopher Hunnisett.
"I would like to pay tribute to the family of Peter Bick who have had to endure some appalling slurs on his character during this trial. I hope that todays sentence helps them to try and move forward with their lives."
