CCP Awarded OBE

Judith Walker, Chief Crown Prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service in South Yorkshire has been awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the New Years Honor's List.
Judith has worked in South Yorkshire throughout her career. When she first qualified she worked as a criminal defence solicitor before becoming a prosecutor in 1983. She went on to become an Assistant Branch Crown Prosecutor in 1990, Assistant Chief Crown Prosecutor in 1994 and took up her present position in 1999 as Chief Crown Prosecutor.
Ken MacDonald, Director of Public Prosecutions has congratulated Judith on her award, saying The Service has been very fortunate to have Judiths continued commitment across a number of varied roles. Her initiative, dedication and outstanding contribution to the Criminal Justice System has now been publicly recognised, and we congratulate her warmly.
Judith says: I am delighted to receive this honour. As Chief Crown Prosecutor in South Yorkshire I work with an excellent team of people who work extremely hard.
