Notes

  1. The total number of incidents recorded as crimes does not equate to the totals for subsequent outcomes (that is where there was no identified suspect; NFA, police disposals or cases charged). This is due to differences in the units of analysis in the data collected from the MPS. See Methods (Annex A) for more information.
  2. One case may involve more than one victim. See Methods (Annex A) for more information.
  3. Where a case has multiple defendants, the prosecution outcome has been recorded as guilty if at least one defendant was found guilty.
  4. One of these cases involved two defendants.
  5. Two of these cases involved more than one defendant.
  6. One of these cases involved three defendants.

Notes

  1. See note a: Table B1.
  2. MPS data show that the CPS advised NFA in two cases. It was not possible to determine whether charging advice was provided in the remaining cases, as this information was not available in the GMP data and is not recorded on CMS.
  3. Information on whether the police or the CPS made the decision to charge was incomplete.
  4. Only those cases that went forward to prosecution with a racially or religiously aggravated offence are shown. Also see note b: Table B1.
  5. Outcomes only relate to cases that went forward to prosecution with a racially or religiously aggravated offence. See note d above.
