Director's Directions
During the period of this report, the Director of Public Prosecutions has issued directions, as follows:
Directors' Directions under section 39 Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 ("SOCPA") as to Reference of Work to Prosecutors
- Under section 39 of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 the Director of Public Prosecutions and the Director of Revenue and Customs Prosecutions may give directions as to the reference of work to the appropriate prosecutor in cases investigated by the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA).
- Following the merger of CPS and RCPO, these Directions replace those issued on 1 April 2006.
- SOCA should refer criminal investigations conducted by its Counter-Corruption Department to the Special Crime Division of the Crown Prosecution Service.
- SOCA should refer all other criminal investigations to the Organised Crime Division of the Crown Prosecution Service.
