CPS Conditional Cautioning Data by Quarter

Description

Conditional cautions are used by the police as an alternative to prosecution in court for some low-level crimes, where the person accused of the crime admits their guilt. The aim of a conditional caution is to deal with the crime quickly, to deter people from repeating the crime, take action to repair the damage caused, rehabilitate the offender, and to prevent the courts from being overburdened.

The conditional cautioning data shows the number of times a conditional caution is issued by the police on a quarterly basis, it includes information about location, type of conditions and what happens if conditional cautions are not complied with.
