Item 1: Note of last meeting and actions arising
1. The Group agreed the note from the last meeting held on 28 November and the update on actions arising from previous meetings.
Item 2: Director's update
2. The Director updated the Board on issues that had arisen since the last Board.
Item 3: Strategic and business planning
3. The Board considered a paper on the draft strategy and business plan for 2008/09 and agreed the proposed activities outlined.
Item 4: Budgets 2008/2009
4. A paper was presented to the Board detailing proposed budgets for Areas and HQ Directorates for 2008-09.
Item 5: Performance and Change Management
5. The Board considered a paper on Performance and Change Management and approved the approach outlined.
Item 6: Delivery Assurance Report - Q3
6. The Board considered the Delivery Assurance Report and was satisfied with the course of action outlined for the reported exceptions.
Item 7: Victim and Witness Strategy
7. The new Victim and Witness Strategy was presented to the Board and approved.
Item 8: Capability Review
8. The Director welcomed Cabinet Secretary Sir Gus O'Donnell and his team from the Prime Minister's Delivery Unit (PMDU) to the CPS Board. Sir Gus attended the CPS Board for the six-month stocktake of progress on the implementation of Capability Review Actions.
9. Sir Gus congratulated the Board on the progress that it had made to date. He looked forward to revisiting in July 2008 for the 12-month stocktake.
Item 9: Below the line
10. The Board approved:
- The disbanding of the Strategy Policy and Diversity Committee;
- The People Strategy;
- The Equality and Diversity Strategy Progress Report.
Item 10: Any other business
11. There was no AOB.
