Item 1: Capability Re-Review assurance feedback

The Cabinet Secretary, Sir Gus O'Donnell introduced the feedback for the CPS assurance re-review. Capability Reviews remain high on the new government's agenda and are informing structural reforms plans in other departments.

Item 2: Director's update

The Director updated board members about the 10 June planning event for senior staff and discussions with the new Attorney General, Solicitor General and Chief Inspector.

The DPP and CEO have also been continuing Area visits, with the DPP also undertaking unannounced court visits.

Item 3: Spending Review draft submission

Paul Staff introduced this paper. The Board noted the draft submission (subsequently sent on 16 July 2010). They asked for an update on the Spending Review to be provided at the November meeting.

Item 4: Assurance reporting

Mike Kennedy advised on the assurance report regime for 2010/11

Item 9: AOB

The below the line paper on Information Assurance was noted and in particular the excellent assessment against the Information Assurance Maturity Model.
