Appendix 4 - Voluntary public service
The duties of a member of a body referred to below for which special leave with pay may be granted are:
- attendance at a meeting of the body or any of its committees or sub-committees; and
- other essential business approved by the body.

| C | a member of a Parish Council (in England) or Community Council (in Wales) | 6 days |
| D | a member of the managing or governing body of an educational establishment in the public sector | 6 days |
| E | a member of a water authority | 6 days |
