Description
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) Strategy and Business Plan 2008-2011 was published on 15 April 2008. The document sets out the steps we are taking in the coming years to deliver our Public Service Agreement (PSA) targets for the 2007 Spending Review period. The Plan presents the CPS vision and strategy for 2008 to 2011, the Service's priority programmes of work, and the specific actions we will be taking under each of these programmes to drive the achievement of the outcomes we seek for the public, and move us towards achieving the CPS vision.

Departmental strategic objective
Description
The CPS's departmental strategic objective over the next three years from 2008-09 to 2010-11 is: to bring offenders to justice, improve services to victims and witnesses and promote confidence by applying the Code for Crown Prosecutors, by adopting a proportionate approach to determine which offenders should be charged and which should be diverted from court, and by firm and fair presentation of cases in court. The following table describes the measures that will be used to assess whether the objective is being delivered.
