A teacher from Salford today admitted a number of sexual offences involving two underage girls.

Appearing at Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court, Christopher Drake, 28, of Ellesmere Road, Monton, pleaded guilty to eighteen counts of sexual activity with a child; one count of sexual activity with a child by a person in a position of trust; one charge of taking indecent photographs of a child; and four counts of possession of indecent photographs of a child.

Speaking after the hearing, Justin Hayhoe, Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) lawyer, said: "Christopher Drake's actions were wholly inexcusable and a complete and gross abuse of his position of trust as a teacher.

"He deliberately preyed on his victims for nothing more than his own sexual gratification. Following today's hearing, we hope they can now begin to move forward with their lives and try and put these events behind them."

The CPS decided that two charges of common assault and making a threat to kill should lie on file.

Drake will be sentenced at Minshull Street Crown Court on August 5.
