Police Inspector Charged with Fraud
13/01/2012
A police inspector from Greater Manchester Police has been charged with a number of offences relating to allegations of fraudulent insurance claims and mortgage fraud.
Elisa Hopley, Senior Crown Prosecutor from CPS North West Area Complex Case Unit said: "After reviewing a file of evidence from Greater Manchester Police I have decided that there is sufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction and it is in the public interest to charge Mohammed Razaq with five offences of fraud by false representation, one offence of failing to disclose information and three offences of money laundering. These charges relate to allegations that Mohammed Razaq made fraudulent insurance claims and gave false information in two mortgage applications."
Mohammed Razaq has been bailed to appear at Trafford Magistrates Court on 24th January.
