Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor: Tracey Easton

Tracy joined the Crown Prosecution Service in September 1986, initially working as a Law Clerk, based at the Old Bailey. After being called to the bar in November 1992, she worked as a Crown Prosecutor in courts across London. In 1995 Tracy became a Unit Head within the Criminal Justice Unit and then the Bristol Trials Unit at CPS Avon and Somerset, becoming one of the first employed Barristers to become a Higher Court Advocate in 2001. In 2004 she became the District Crown Prosecutor for CPS Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, before moving to Surrey as the temporary Chief Crown Prosecutor (CCP) in January 2007. In September 2007 she was appointed as the CCP for CPS Devon and Cornwall and became the Deputy CCP for CPS South West in 2011.

As a national trainer for the CPS, Tracy has developed training programmes for all CPS staff, before returning to her native North East as Deputy Chief Crown prosecutor in 2017.

Area Business Manager: Karen Wright

Karen joined the CPS in November 2001 as Area Business Manager for CPS Durham following a variety of roles in local authorities, the civil service and the private sector. After five years as ABM she gained promotion and joined CPS West Yorkshire in November 2006.

Following the restructure of CPS in 2012 the West and North Yorkshire and South Yorkshire and Humberside Groups were merged to form CPS Yorkshire and Humberside and Karen was asked to become the Senior Area Business Manager responsible for this Area. Following this ten year period away from 'home' she returned to her northern roots in June 2017 as ABM for CPS North East.

Senior District Crown Prosecutor (Crown Court Unit): Sharon Elves

Sharon Joined the CPS in 2004 as a Senior Crown Prosecutor, having previously been employed in the banking sector. In 2006 she was appointed as a Crown Advocate routinely prosecuting cases in the Crown Court. In 2014 Sharon joined the newly formed national Proceeds of Crime Unit as a regional Manager with responsibility for proceeds of crime work across the North East and North West of England and Wales.

In 2016 Sharon was recognised in the Proceeds of Crime Team staff awards for Outstanding Leadership. Sharon took up her current role of Senior District Crown Prosecutor, with responsibility for the North East Crown Court Unit, in June 2017.

Senior District Crown Prosecutor (Magistrates' Court Unit): Chris Atkinson

Chris joined the CPS in 2008 as a legal trainee. He successfully completed his pupillage in 2009 and was appointed as a Crown Prosecutor in CPS Cleveland, progressing to become a Senior Crown Prosecutor in 2011. In April 2014 Chris was appointed as a District Crown Prosecutor responsible for cases in the magistrates' courts in Cleveland and County Durham.

In May 2017 Chris took up his current post as Senior District Crown Prosecutor responsible for CPS North East's Magistrates' Court Unit.
