Partnership working
The Crown Prosecution Service is an independent organisation but we do not work in isolation. Read on to find out how CPS Northamptonshire is working in partnership with other agencies and groups.
A multi-agency approach
CPS Northamptonshire is committed to joined-up justice and multi-agency working. We support the following partnerships and groups:
- County Community Safety Partnerships;
- Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CDRPs);
- Multi-Agency Group Against Disablist Attacks and Harrassment (MAGDAH);
- Multi-Agency Groups Against Racial Attacks and Harassment (MAGRAH);
- Northampton Inter-Agency Group Against the Harrassment of Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual People (NIAG);
- Northamptonshire Domestic Abuse Forum; and
- Northamptonshire Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Alliance (NLGBA).
Local Criminal Justice System
CPS Northamptonshire is one of several agencies which together make up the local Criminal Justice System.
We work closely with the Police, Courts, Probation Service, Prison Service and Youth Offending Service.

Northamptonshire Criminal Justice Board
Local Criminal Justice Board - This is the body which oversees the delivery of justice in Northamptonshire. The Chief Officers of each local criminal justice agency are members of Northamptonshire Criminal Justice Board.
The Chair of the board is currently CPS Northamptonshire's Chief Crown Prosecutor, Grace Ononiwu OBE, so we are not only represented on the board but also leading local reform of the Criminal Justice System.
The board is so significant because joint working by all the criminal justice agencies on shared targets is the most effective way to improve the local Criminal Justice System.
For more information on Northamptonshire Criminal Justice Board and its work to bring more offences to justice, deal with persistent young offenders and improve timeliness of the system - just some aspects of its work - visit the Northamptonshire Criminal Justice Board website.
Supporting Victims and Witnesses
CPS Northamptonshire works closely with Northamptonshire Victim Support and Witness Service, who provide invaluable help and support to victims and witnesses of crime and their families.
