Grace Ononiwu awarded the OBE

The Chief Crown Prosecutor for Northamptonshire, Grace Ononiwu, has been awarded an OBE in the 2008 New year Honours List.

Prior to her current role, Grace held a number of posts including those of Senior Crown Prosecutor and Prosecution Team Leader. She was the project manager for the first CPS/Metropolitan Police co-located unit based in a police station which identified the standards for rollout across the rest of CPS London.  As a CCP she has provided strong leadership which was recognised in a recent Area Inspection.

Grace has personally taken forward the development of the Area's Hate Crimes Scrutiny Panel. She has also played an integral role in increasing the involvement of staff networks in the CPS policy making process and has introduced a number of highly successful support schemes for BME staff as Chair of the National Black Crown Prosecution Association.
