Lawyer recruitment drive through new website

The CPS has launched an online recruitment campaign to attract hundreds of new lawyers nationwide.

A new website - www.cps-careers.org.uk - has been developed to make the process easier for applicants and to reduce costs.

Fiona Campbell, Area Business Manager, says the move to employ additional lawyers both in Northamptonshire and nationwide reflects that this is an exciting time to join the CPS.

She said: "The CPS has an increasing and crucial role to play in the local and national criminal justice system. We are recruiting lawyers in order to help bring more offences to justice and thereby improve public confidence in Northamptonshires criminal justice system.

"Although our core business remains the same, every day is different when you work for the CPS. I would encourage any lawyer who is interested in joining the prosecution team in Northamptonshire to visit the website."

Janet Birch, CPS National Business Support Manager, said: "The CPS aims to present a professional and modern image to the market place and show that it is moving with the ever-changing recruitment process.

"The website cuts out a large amount of paperwork and speeds up the recruiting process. Candidates eligibility can be assessed immediately on the site before they fill in the application form. The website also provides up to date information about the CPS, including first-hand descriptions by staff of work they do."
