Man charged following firearms incidents in Liverpool
Senior Crown Prosecutor Paul Shepherd of CPS Mersey Cheshire, said: “The Crown Prosecution Service has today authorised Merseyside Police to charge Leslie Garrett, 49, of Ternhall Road, Liverpool, with the offences of:
1) S16 Firearms Act 1968 Possession of firearm to endanger life
2) S16A Firearms Act 1968 Possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence
3) S16A Firearms Act 1968 Possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence
4) Attempt Robbery
5) S1(1)(b) Firearms Act 1968 Possession of ammunition without a certificate.
"The charges follow a series of firearms incidents in Liverpool on 3 January 2024. Mr Garrett will appear before Liverpool Magistrates Court on Saturday, 6 January 2024.
“The CPS made the decision to authorise charges after reviewing a file of evidence from Merseyside Police.
“The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against Mr Garrett are now active and that he has a right to a fair trial. It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.”
