New HR Director joins CPS

Ros McCool joins the Crown Prosecution Service today as its new Human Resources Director.
Miss McCool was previously Director of Human Resources for the Immigration and Nationality Directorate (IND) of the Home Office since April 2003. She was directly responsible for 300 HR staff and for providing comprehensive HR support to a diverse workforce of 19,000.
Miss McCool said: "I am delighted to have secured this important appointment and am really excited by the challenges of the role. I very much look forward to working with Ken Macdonald and the CPS senior team."
Miss McCool, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, has a wide range of knowledge and experience of Government organisations. She has worked at the Cabinet Office, and on secondment to Lord Jenkins of Hillhead's Independent Commission on Voting Reform from the House of Commons, as well as in various Home Office Directorates. She also spent time on secondment to the Public Affairs Department in the NatWest Bank Group as a key member of the senior team.
From 2002 to 2003 she was head of Police Personnel Strategic Management Unit in the Police and Crime Reduction Group at the Home Office. Her work in this role enabled the achievement of two key business Home Office objectives including the production of the first ever National Policing Plan and a national strategy for reducing police bureaucracy.
Her interests include reading, collecting and viewing art, music, theatre, cooking and enjoying fine food and wine with family and friends, and walking her dog.
