Six men charged following cash machine burglaries


Maria Corr, Senior Crown Prosecutor with the Complex Casework Unit of CPS Mersey-Cheshire, said: "I have today (11 December 2013) authorised Merseyside and West Mercia Police to charge six men on two counts - conspiracy to cause explosions and conspiracy to burgle commercial premises.

"The charges relate to a series of attacks on cash machines (ATMs) across the North West, the Midlands, Leicestershire and Oxfordshire,  throughout 2013.

"Those charged are:

 Craig Cartwright (20/09/1974) of Vinecote Road,  Longford, Coventry
 Kurt Richard Beddoes (07/08/13) of no fixed abode
 Gary Stephen Keating (07/05/84) of The Mews, Danette Hey,  Liverpool
 Ian Ellis (19/05/84)- of Hanford Avenue, Liverpool .
 Anthony Bushell (09/09/84) of no fixed abode.
 Thomas Whittingham 11/06/86 of Broughton Hall Road ,Liverpool.

"The defendants will appear at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on 12 December 2013.

"These men are now the subject of criminal proceedings and have the right to a fair trial.

"It is extremely important that nothing should be reported that could in any way prejudice these proceedings."
