Men charged after Wirral pub death


Two men have appeared in court charged in connection with the death of a man attacked in a Wirral pub.

Kenneth Wylde, 32, died a week after suffering serious head injuries in an assault at The Wine Lodge in Birkenhead on 10 February 2012.

John Burns, 32, appeared at Wirral Magistrates' Court charged with manslaughter and perverting the course of justice.

Tony Clark, 36, also appeared charged with perverting the course of justice charge in connection with the death.

Richard Riley, CPS Mersey-Cheshire Senior Crown Prosecutor, said: "The Crown Prosecution Service has opposed bail in line with our Core Quality Standards. This matter will now go to the Crown Court for a decision."
