Man jailed for possession of gun

A man has been jailed for three years for having a shotgun at his home.

Joseph Davies, 31, from Widnes, had admitted possessing the weapon and was sentenced at Warrington Crown Court.

Davies claimed he had found the shotgun in a field wrapped up in the towel.

He was arrested and subsequently charged with the offence.
