Warrington man jailed for drugs offences

A man who sold cocaine to friends in town centre bars has been jailed for two and a half years.

Andrew Potter, of Warrington, was arrested by police on Bridge Street carrying a small amount of the class A drug on November 12 2011.

Warrington Crown Court heard that the 28-year-old had bought 'more drugs than he normally would buy' after a gambling windfall.

Martin McRobb, Crown Advocate from CPS Mersey-Cheshire, said the cocaine user intended to sell some to friends while drinking in the town centre before he was randomly stopped by police.

The Mere Golf Club employee pleaded guilty to possession of a class A drug with intent.
