CPS charging statement following the deaths of three people in Toxteth

David Jones, Senior Crown Prosecutor with Mersey-Cheshire Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said: "The CPS received a file of evidence from Merseyside Police following the deaths of three people at a house on Falkner Street in Toxteth in Liverpool on Tuesday 30 May 2017.

"Following a review of the evidence, the Crown Prosecution Service has authorised Merseyside Police to charge Sami Salem, 30, of Falkner Street, Toxteth, with the murder of all three people.

"The CPS reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against Sami Salem are now active and that he has a right to a fair trial. It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings."
