Wendy Newton, Hate Crime and Domestic Violence SpecialistWendy Newton is a Solicitor and studied Law at The College of Law, Christleton, Chester. She qualified in 1998.

She worked in private practice in North Wales and Cheshire before joining the CPS in Cheshire in  2002.

She is a Senior Crown Prosecutor and is currently based in the Mersey-Cheshire Magistrates' Court Advocacy Team.

She is a Hate Crime and Domestic Violence Specialist.

 

 

Nicky Inskip, Hate Crime Co-ordinator

Nicky Inskip, Hate Crime Co-ordinatorNicky studied law (LLB) at Liverpool John Moore's University.

She joined the CPS in 1993 and worked in the Liverpool office.

She is a Senior Crown Prosecutor working in the CPS Mersey-Cheshire's Crown Court Unit.

She was the Hate Crime Co-ordinator for Liverpool until CPS Merseyside merged with Cheshire and she is now Hate Crime Co-ordinator for Mersey-Cheshire.

 

 

 

Richard Riley, Senior Crown Prosecutor

Richard Riley, Senior Crown ProsecutorRichard studied Law at Leeds University (LLB) and the College of Law, Chester. He became a solicitor in 1982 and worked in private practice before joining the CPS in 1991.

He was based in the Wirral office before transferring to Liverpool in 2010.

He worked in the Crown Court unit from October 2010 and has been a member of the allocated unit since October 2012.

He has responsibility for the prosecution of police officers in Lancashire and part of Greater Manchester. He also specialises in crimes against the elderly.

 

 

Rachael Barber, Senior Crown Prosecutor

Rachael Barber, Senior District Crown ProsecutorRachael studied law at Manchester Met LLB and graduated in 1997. She then joined the police and served as an officer for 6 years.

She completed her Legal Practice Certificate and in 2004 joined the General Medical Council as a trainee solicitor.

She qualified as a solicitor in 2006 and joined CPS Cheshire in 2007.

She worked at the Warrington office as a Senior Crown Prosecutor before moving to the Crown Court team in Chester in 2010.

She joined the Liverpool office in May 2012. 

 

Jackie Rand, Area Communications Manager

Jackie Rand, Area Communication ManagerJackie Rand joined Mersey-Cheshire CPS in 2013 from Merseyside Police's press office and has been working in Public Relations for about 8 years.

Before that, she was a journalist for several years and her last media post was as a reporter with Granada Television.

Jackie deals with external communications with the media and internal communications within the CPS.
