Giving you support

As a witness, the CPS and police will give you full support.

After giving your statement to the police they will take your contact details and ask you your preferred method of being contacted (for example, mobile, home or work phone).

Your name will be passed to a Witness Care Officer (WCO) who will then contact you and introduce himself/herself.

This person will be your main point of contact throughout the case and if you have concerns about anything relating to it, you can speak to him/her about it.

The WCO will carry out a full needs assessment with you to find out how you can be supported in giving evidence in court.
