If you have been a victim of a violent crime within the last two years then you may be entitled to compensation. To check your eligibility for the scheme compare your circumstances against the criteria given on the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority's website.
You can pursue the claim by:
- Applying yourself, using either online or paper form;
- Getting the assistance of a lawyer;
- Asking Victim Support to help;
- Asking the Citizens Advice Bureau for help.
