Trenton Oldfield statement
26/09/2012
Trenton Oldfield was today found guilty at Isleworth Crown Court of one count of Public Nuisance at the 2012 University Boat Race (April 7th, 2012).
CPS London lawyer Edmund Hall said: "Trenton Oldfield disrupted the 2012 University Boat Race and swam into the path of the competing boats, causing the race to be stopped for his safety and the safety of others on the river. It is important that popular public events should be protected from irresponsible behaviour such as this and today a jury agreed."
Mr Oldfield will be sentenced on 19th October at Isleworth Crown Court.
