Teenager jailed for life-threatening Boxing Day stabbing

A teenager has been jailed after stabbing another boy five times in Hackney on Boxing Day and leaving him with life threatening injuries.

The 15-year-old admitted grievous bodily harm with intent over the attack which involved a serrated edged non-household knife.

He stabbed his 16-year-old victim five times in an unprovoked attack.

He also admitted possession of a knife and was jailed for six years at the Central Criminal Court yesterday [8 May 2017].?

CPS London reviewing lawyer Steve Harris said: "This was an extremely disturbing stabbing witnessed by dozens of shoppers and which left a teenage boy with life-threatening injuries.

"The knife was targeted towards his cheek, stomach and back, narrowly missing his spine, and these wounds left him needing part of his bowel removed and having to undergo plastic surgery on his face.

"If you carry a knife and use it with the intention to do harm you will face the prospect of prosecution and a prison sentence."
