A man has been sentenced to six years imprisonment after admitting three offences following an incident on Tottenham Court Road in April.

48 year old Michael Green pleaded guilty to one count of false imprisonment, one count of communicating false information with intent by making a bomb hoax and one count of criminal damage.

He was sentenced to a determinate sentence of six years for false imprisonment, three years for making a bomb hoax to run concurrent and four years for criminal damage to run concurrent.

CPS London Special Casework lawyer Jane Scholefield said:

"The charges which Michael Green admitted have been carefully considered and the Crown Prosecution Service is confident that they fully represent his criminality that day.

"Michael Green's actions caused fear and distress to those people involved directly, to those in the local community and across the Capital.

"His actions came from a personal dispute yet he chose to make that grievance known in a manner which caused disruption to thousands of people and came at a significant cost to the company involved."
