Mariusz Jusza sentenced for Brentford crossing death

Mariusz Jusza was sentenced today at Kingston Crown Court to six years imprisonment for causing the death of 68-year-old Margaret Streeter. Jusza pleaded guilty on 31st January 2014 to causing death by dangerous driving, causing death by driving whilst uninsured and causing death by driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

Baljit Ubhey, CPS London Chief Crown Prosecutor said: "Mariusz Jusza's dangerous driving has devastated a family.

"On 28 October 2013 in Brentford Mariusz Jusza overtook another vehicle on the approach to a zebra crossing which was on a damp road approaching a blind bend. This was an exceptionally dangerous manoeuvre which ultimately cost Margaret Streeter her life.

"Mrs Streeter was crossing the road with her seven-year-old granddaughter when she was fatally struck by the vehicle being driven by Jusza.

"I hope the conviction of Jusza gives some small comfort to Mrs Streeter's family. Our thoughts are with them at this time."
