Man sentenced for Hounslow knife attacks

A man who carried out two knife attacks on women while they were walking alone at night has been sentenced to 14 years imprisonment with an additional license period of four years.

Cheryl Jones, CPS London reviewing lawyer, said: "These incidents were terrifying ordeals for the two victims and sparked fear in the local community.

"Masamba targeted women who were walking alone at night, listening to music on their headphones.

"The strong evidence presented to the court led Masamba to plead guilty to wounding these victims with intent to cause grievous bodily harm."

Sasha Masamba was sentenced at the Central Criminal Court today after pleading guilty in February to two counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Both incidents occurred in Hounslow. The first, on 7 August, resulted in the victim receiving a deep cut to her neck after she was approached from behind by Masamba. The second occurred on 17 August when a woman was approached from behind and her face was cut.
