Man convicted of Kirsty Treloar murder
21/09/2012
Myles Williams was today convicted at the Central Criminal Court of the murder of Kirsty Treloar and of GBH with intent against her brother Dean and sister Gemma. He will be sentenced on Wednesday, 26th September.
Daren Streeter, CPS London Head of Homicide, said: "Williams committed a violent and frenzied attack for which he was today convicted. He attacked Kirsty, stabbing her a total of 29 times and also attacked Kirsty's sister and brother as they attempted to stop the attack.
"In court Williams attempted to claim loss of control as a result of being attacked by Dean and that he was not conscious or in control of his actions. The prosecution maintained that he had already lost control before Dean entered the room and today a jury agreed. A conviction can never bring back a family member, but I hope that this conviction provides some comfort for Kirsty's family at this difficult time."
