Statement on conviction of David Norris and Gary Dobson for the murder of Stephen Lawrence

Conviction in King's Cross tube killing 

Senthooran Kanagasingham (09/02/1976) was today convicted at the Central Criminal Court of the manslaughter of 62-year old Sonia Burgess on the evening of Monday, October 25 2010. At the time of the incident, the defendant was undergoing gender reassignment, living as a woman and was known as Nina Kanagasingham.

Jean Ashton, Senior Area Business Manager for the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in London, was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) on 6th December. She received the honour for services to the CPS.

Prolific rare egg thief sentenced today

Matthew Gonshaw of Bow, East London, was convicted today at Thames Magistrates’ Court, London of 10 charges in relation to taking and possessing wild bird eggs and has been sentenced to six months imprisonment.

New Borough Crown Prosecutor for Hammersmith and Fulham and Kensington and Chelsea

Dolores Barrett has been appointed the new head of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in Hammersmith and Fulham and Chelsea and Kensington. She has now started in the role of Borough Crown Prosecutor and takes over from Sharon Grant, who is taking over the same role in Newham.

Dale Williams charging statement

The Crown Prosecution Service has this afternoon (24th August) authorised the Metropolitan Police Service to charge Dale Williams, 19, with the murder of Kelvin Chibueze. Mr Chibueze was fatally stabbed during a violent clash that occurred between two rival groups at a private party at The Arteflex Club in Ilford in the early hours of Monday 15th August 2011.

Seven youths convicted of a fatal stabbing in Sydenham Park 

Terrell Clement, 18, along with two youths aged 17, were found guilty of manslaughter on June 17, 2011 at the Central Criminal Court for carrying out a vicious attack that led to the death of 16 year old Nicholas Pearton. Four other youths have already been convicted in connection with this incident.

A 70 year old man has today (Wednesday 27 October) been sentenced to an indeterminate prison sentence for public protection with a minimum of 12 years and six months at Southwark Crown Court after being found guilty of shooting his former partner three times in the head in broad daylight in Barnet.
