Early Guilty Plea Scheme

The Early Guilty Plea Scheme is a judicially led initiative designed to provide all participants in the criminal justice system with a clear and defined method of enabling early guilty pleas to be taken by the courts in appropriate cases.  

During 2012-13 Crown Court centres in London will be adopting the Early Guilty Plea Scheme and issuing protocols which the Crown Prosecution Service will follow.
