Response

Records held by the Crown Prosecution Service’s (CPS’) Proceeds of Crime Division (POC D) indicate that information within scope of the request is held. Please note that the information provided should be read in conjunction with the four caveats listed below.

The total funds recovered from the individual named in the request is £153,589.92. Mr Buisson was subject to a Confiscation Order for £294,973.00, but this was varied on 30 December 2022 to £153,589.92.

  • This data was obtained from an external multi-agency database – with data to 21 March 2023, for the granted confiscation order under Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) 2002 legislation following criminal convictions for 11 Counts of Burglary contrary to s9 (1)(B) Theft Act 1968 and two counts of Attempted Burglary under s1 (1) Criminal Attempts Act 1981.
  • The multi-agency database is a live database, with no data freeze, therefore the data is subject to change at any time.
  • Individuals from multiple agencies are involved with inputting and updating of records on this external database, and as with any large-scale recording system, the data maybe subject to possible errors with data entry and processing.
  • The Payment details are recorded by HMCTS as a confiscation order is payable to the magistrates’ court and HMCTS are ultimately responsible for collecting the debt owed by a case subject on a confiscation order. The lead enforcement agency may have been CPS or HMCTS.
