Derbyshire
The CPS East Midlands Derbyshire district serves a population of approximately 1 million through dealing with around 25,000 criminal cases in the Magistrates court and 2,500 criminal cases in the Crown Court every year.
There are offices in Derby and Chesterfield, where at any one time over 100 members of staff work.
The Magistrates Court team prosecutes cases at Derby, Buxton and Chesterfield.
More serious criminal cases are heard in the Crown Court, usually in Derby but sometimes in neighbouring courts, and are covered by the Crown Court team.
The Derbyshire district is part of the CPS East Midlands north sector.
