Leicester drugs offender ordered to pay back £19,000 proceeds of crime

A Leicester man convicted of drugs offences has had £19,219 worth of assets confiscated under the Proceeds of Crime Act at Leicester Crown Court.

Jason Bott was convicted in April 2010 of two counts of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply.

Lawrence English, head of the Leicester trials unit at CPS East Midlands said: "Jason Bott will now have to repay over £19,000, which we have shown to be the proceeds of his criminal activities.

"Crime does not pay, and we will continue to use the Proceeds of Crime Act to ensure that convicted criminals do not have the chance to benefit financially from their crimes."
