CPS East Midlands is led by its Chief Crown Prosecutor, Judith Walker, who is supported by Area Business Manager Adele Clarke.

There are also two Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutors (DCCPs), responsible for operations and casework.

As DCCP, Operations, Steve Chappell is responsible for the Area's operational leadership, management and performance.

Richard Crowley, DCCP,Casework provides leadership for all serious and complex casework

The CPS has offices in the five counties in the East Midlands and works closely with the police forces in these areas. Local teams are led by District Crown Prosecutors, and they are supported by two Senior District Crown Prosecutors, one of whom is responsible for work relating to Magistrates' courts and one is responsible for Crown Court matters.

Some of the more serious cases, or those that take up a lot of staff time are prosecuted by the East Midlands complex casework unit.

In April 2011, the CPS changed its structure to its current format. Previously, each of the counties had their own CPS Area, led by a Chief Crown Prosecutor. These Areas are now part of CPS East Midlands.
