Howard Livings jailed for brutal murder of Braintree woman

Howard Livings has been sentenced to life for the brutal murder of an Essex woman.

The 30 year old stabbed Tina Bennett more than 50 times at her home in Braintree earlier this year.

Livings, who was found guilty of murder at Chelmsford Crown Court yesterday, has been told he must serve at least 30 years behind bars.

Following the sentencing, CPS District Crown Prosecutor Olivia Gooding said: "This was an extremely violent and frenzied attack for which there was little explanation. Our thoughts are now with Tina's friends and family.

"I would like to pay tribute to the prosecution team who have worked extremely hard to ensure Mr Livings will spend a considerable period of time behind bars."
