Elderly man conned out of £300,000 by a woman and her two daughters

A mother and her two daughters were today found guilty of defrauding an elderly neighbour with Alzheimer's disease of his savings.
Their victim, who is in his 80s, relied on them for help and support, but instead they stole a total of £285,000.
Described in court as "vultures", they befriended him to gain access to his financial details.
53 year old Mahletchimi Ramadu and her daughters Jessica Mahatevan, 18, and Angela Davis, 27, were all found guilty by jury after a three week trial at Cambridge Crown Court.
Sally Hickling, Crown Advocate for the East of England CPS commented: "This is a tragic case where an elderly man of failing health was targeted by ruthless individuals he thought were friends. He believed they would look out for him, instead they were intent on abusing his trust by taking from him all they could get.
"The victim relies on his friends and neighbours to look out for him and protect his welfare. Ramada and her daughters, as his neighbours, saw this as an opportunity to enter his house, find his banking and investment details and raid his savings. They made him sign documents releasing funds from his accounts and transferring them into theirs, taking advantage of the fact he didn't understand what he was being asked to sign.
"I would like to pay tribute to prosecuting counsel Mike Magee and everyone in the prosecution team and the police who've worked extremely hard to ensure Ramadu and her daughters have been brought to justice."
